Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-05-27T07:23Z ( STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-05-27T07:23:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Source Location: S21E95
Note Keyword:
DPL: CME exhibits dimpled front
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
HAL: Halo CME
PRM: Prominence material (filamentary structures)
Source Signature Keyword:
FLR: Flare
PEA: Post eruption arcade
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
EUVW: EUV Wave
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Large partial halo, potential full halo CME with likely H-alpha emission seen with a bulk portion to the east in SOHO LASCO C2, C3, and STEREO A COR2 imagery. The source is an X2.8 flare peaking at 2024-05-27T07:08Z from an unnumbered active region just beyond the SE limb (likely old AR3664 based on solar rotation calculations). The flare included the release of plasma/filament material best seen in SDO/AIA 304 and was followed by moving/opening field lines and EUV wave best seen in SDO/AIA 211 and GOES SUVI 284, as well as post-eruptive arcades best seen in SDO/AIA 193.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE true SWPC_CAT -99.0 -6.0 1220.0 O 40.0 2024-05-27T10:04Z Parameters are based on the best fit of the BULK of the CME. The CME exhibits a dimpled front and continues to expand in width as it progresses out of the field of view. Most of the CME's bulk is captured in this analysis, however portions on the left hand boundary were excluded in later frames due to the expansion of the CME. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
2: Result 2 (5.5 AU)

Due to the irregular shape of the CME and shock, some portions of the shock were excluded to attempt a best fit. Parameters may vary due to limitations with measuring techniques. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
